Are you nervous about dyeing for the first or second time?
Do you need someone to hold your hand? Someone to give you ideas?
Come on down! I’ve been dyeing with acid dyes for a long time and have lots of knowledge to share.
Heres the plan:
- This is a drop in sort of deal, where you don’t have to stay all day. Maybe its just to see what other
people are doing or chat about ideas. Maybe its to get set up to dye your wool for Fiber Exchange in
May. - BYO Fiber!!!! I have some dyes I can sell you if you don’t find what you want at the Great Basin
Fiber Fair or don’t know what to get. I have a wide range of colors from Dharma Trading. - I will not be dyeing this for you. I can talk you through it and will show you how to, but the final
result is up to you. Don’t worry! I will make sure you are fairly confident by the time you leave. - I HIGHLY recommend you bring a large pot that will become your designated dye pot. Bonus points
if you also bring a steamer basket to put in the bottom of the pot so that you can also have the option to steam set your fiber - Here is a resource that perfectly shows one of the methods I’ll show you:

Should you choose this method, bring your pot and steam basket and we can dye and make jelly rolls for you to take home and steam set. - There is a sweet baby angel dog on property. She will ask for your attention via woofing, but generally be out of the way as she prefers to lay on her sheep pelt and down blankets.
Please don’t bring children. There are some kiddos that are a part of the guild that are more than
welcome to join, but there will be a lot of moving parts with dangers like VERY hot water, chemicals,
electricity, sharp objects, and my general aversion to poorly behaved children.
