Welcome
The Wasatch Woolpack Handspinner’s Guild has been around since 1998. We get together monthly to spin, mentor other fiber artists, show off finished projects, and learn more about spinning and other fiber arts.
When the guild was initially established, the name chosen was based on the county of the first meeting, an article in that same year defining woolpack, and creating yarn by hand (A.K.A. hand spinning).
Meaning of “Woolpack”
From an article in the Spring 1998 Spin-Off, “The Woolpack, referring to the sack used to carry the clip to market or mill.”

Wasatch Woolpack Handspinners History

In January 29, 1998, the first organizational meeting was held as a spinning Saturday at Shirley Marshall’s home and not long after (July 22, 1998) a guild was established with guild officer’s that were filled by volunteers that rotated each year. Since then the meetings have become more frequent and consistent over the years.
